Our Story
June 2021
Meg and Brian’s first date took place after a close friend set them up, thinking they would be a good match. They met for a drink at Bandit’s in the West Village, which turned into closing out a restaurant nearby. Brian requested Date #2, but Meg declined… timing wasn’t quite right.
April 2022
Brian had received word that Meg was interested in seeing him again, but she was a month away from moving to Stockholm, Sweden. They reconnected for two more dates, closing out bars (again) on both occasions. Despite having a strong connection and a lot to talk about, Meg decided the timing wasn’t right to continue exploring things romantically just weeks before her big move.
July 2022
Brian and Meg kept each other updated occasionally over the summer. She shared her Swedish number and stories about her new life with him. They began a summer-long exchange of postcards back and forth.
November 2022
Brian went to London for work and then visited Meg in Stockholm. After a perfect weekend together, Brian and Meg made things official the night before he returned to New York, beginning their journey in an international long-distance relationship.
January 2023
Meg visited the States to see her family over the holidays and bookended her trip with stays in North Carolina and at Brian’s Brooklyn apartment. She survived the six-boy shared living space and hosted a dinner party for Brian and his roommates—a tradition that continued with more visits throughout 2023.
2024
Meg moved back to New York City, officially ending long distance. Later that year, Brian and Meg moved in together and settled into their lovely neighborhood of Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
2025
On July 5, 2025, Brian and Meg got engaged in Stockholm, in a park on a special island they had visited twice before.
A few months later, they hosted an intimate engagement party at the beautiful Waverly Inn & Garden in NYC for their East Coast friends and immediate families to celebrate.
